I plan on getting a 4k monitor in a few months. Never had anything over 1080 so I'm not sure what the difference will b. In your opinion at 4k resolution is it worth getting the 980ti or still stick with the 970?

If you are going with a 4k monitor you should probably get the 980ti as well as a power supply that is beefy enough to drive 2 980ti cards.  Even a single 980ti isn't always going to give great performance at 4k.
I would forget about 4k and just focus on getting a 970 card for your present monitor(I assume its a 1080p monitor).

yes it is and that's what I did. I'm downloading the drivers now. looked at the 980 and 980 ti and didn't think it was worth the extra 2-3 hundred dollars for what I have now. down the road Ill upgrade my psu and then look at 4k and the next gen Pascal Nvidia cards. The 970 was so much bigger than the 950 I replaced, It almost didn't fit......Looking forward to testing it out. Thanks for the help I appreciate it.Big smile
