ive a had a used ps2 for bout 6years straight with no problems, my ps3 is on its way to me my question is do i need a fan cooler for it? if so what are some good ones? or do i even need a fan cooler?

no need for a cooler. runs fine without (unless you play 24hrs a day)

It still runs fine if you play 24hrs a day, lol.  I just leave mine on all the time and it's fine.

Personally I have had the YLOD (Yellow Light of Death). Basically this means the PS3 won't work. I believe my problem was neglect. I never cleaned it. I can only imagine how bad it looked inside. I suggest after your warranty is up, open it up and clean it out. Only if you are savvy enough (confident) that you won't break it.

Just make sure it can breathe and clean it as much as possible.

nah man your good. I have had my ps3 for one year now and never had any heat issues. I use the thing to watch blu rays. as a media center to my pc and to play games the things probably on 10 hours a day and still no heat problems dont wast the money

ive done research on ps3 & xbox 360....faulty ps3's were .003% faulty 360's were 33% need i say anything else?

PS3 is actually around 7-10%.

The 360 has a 3 year RRoD warranty so if it does fail it gets replaced for free so what does it matter?
