Yes, that is the method I use to get more information.

It is interesting to note that whether the "Standard" fan or the alternative "Tt Riing" fan is chosen, the detailed information under the picture is the same!

When I ordered my system some moths ago, I made the mistake of leaving the Standard fan option checked.  I received standard CP $5.00 fans.  From posts on these forums, I believe that other purchasers have received the same.

Can anyone else confirm this or refute this?

Perhaps the price difference is in the LED lighting. Gamerstorm's website shows this product with fans that look generic, so Gamerstorm probably de-branded the fans to avoid confusion, but their description lists the fans as "Unique TF 120 double-blade fans" For the labor involved, I can't imagine CP swapping out fans.

The only content that dynamically changes on the page when you make the change is the price. My belief is that Cyberpower is trying to minimize their work with respect to all the different cooler & fan combos, and that's also why they use the term "standard" for all of the coolers as the default choice.

I've bought several systems, and I've always received the "stock" fans. In full disclosure though, they've all been Corsair.

I will leave it with this note. If Cyberpower lists a particular fan in the details, and they give you a cheaper one that's not legal. It's what's called 'bait and switch'. They either have to compensate you for the difference or receive prior approval for the substitution.

Best of luck on your system.

Waiting for my new system and getting excited about receiving it soon!

One of the things I experienced in this journey was the cancelling of an order and placing a new one. A word of caution to any who may be thinking of cancelling: Waiting for the credit on my card to come through took quite some time. After 9 days I called Cyberpower to ask the status of the credit. They said they had processed it immediately, so I needed to contact my credit card issuer. I did not want that substantial amount rolling over into my next billing period so I had to dispute the charges. I think everything is going to be fine, but if you're cancelling keep an eye on your credit card statement closing date.

I just received my system today!

Re: the fans. dforrest is correct!! My DeepCool Captain came with Thermaltake TT-1225s.

I called CP. They said they only get the pumps from the manufacturer, not the entire unit. They attach their own radiator and fans. I recommended they change their website. I'm not complaining because my CASE came with 3 more fans than I was expecting. Including the radiator fans this thing now has 9 fans. Just thought I'd circle back because there was some uncertainty on the DeepCool Captain fans. Now I'll need to figure out if moving some of my other fans onto the radiator and ditching the TT-1225s is a possibility . . .

Here is a good list to go by.

Take plenty of pictures before during & after the unboxing in case there is damage.

Remove all packing, verify all components are seated & plugged in.

Connect monitor, keyboard, mouse and internet only.

Fire it up, finish OS install, GPU drivers & MOBO drivers. Register the OS.

Download Speed Fan or HWI monitor and run during all tests to monitor temps.
All the programs listed are free, make sure you download directly from their site
or at someplace like Major Geeks.

Download and create a bootable flash drive or CD of Memtest. Run it to verify your RAM has no errors.
A bad sector or 2 can cause all sorts of weird issues. If it passes move on. If not find the bad stick
and temporarily remove it.

Download and run Intel Burn In on standard, for a general stress test.

Download and run Furmark to stress the GPU.

If all is well update the OS and drivers.

Install your most used programs.

Now I suggest "cloning" your HD and re-clone every few months or so. Then just disconnect the clone drive.
I have found out the hard way what you need to go through if a C drive fails and the multiple days
it takes to get set up again. If something does happen in minutes your back up and running
with a minimal amount of data to get back.

If you decide not to clone, at least make a set of recovery disks or back up your drive.

Finish installing printers, etc.

Your ready to go.
Remember valor, honor, independence, family & clan; I do whenever I hear the ceol mor, the "great music" of the Highland bagpipe. I swear upon the holy iron of my dirk that I will not forget.

Thank you for this checklist GAN1957! I will definitely download & and run all of the testing programs you recommend.

I'm assuming the checklist is in chronological order. I don't like to have my systems online, even for a short period of time, unless the OS, virus definitions, and anti- malware are completely patched and updated. Are any of the programs you mentioned dependent on my being online, or can I download them from another computer and bring them over on a USB drive?

Like you, I re-image my drives regularly. It doesn't even take a disaster for me to re-apply and update an image every now and then.  It cleans up any crud I've accumulated (without having to be an expert on registry editing).

Thanks again GAN1957!
