I called CP and changed the Standard Power Supply to a EVGA 850watt power Supply, it was just nagging at me that I missed that oversight when I ordered.

I'd cancel and reorder!!

The special gel is a TOTAL waste!!

DO NOT let CP OC - THEY DO IT WRONG!! And do it yourself save 50 bucks - not worth paying them that much, easy to do.

VERY IMPORTANT - Your CPU will MELT down w/ that big an OC, w/o AT LEAST push-pull fans, or a 240mm cooler!!

You MUST add case fans - there's only 1 in that case - 2 or 3 needed!

Add the shipping warranty. For just a few bucks more, the WD Blue 1TB spinner is much better than std-in-stock-unknown.

Pro wiring a TOTAL WASTE!!!

Hope you used the 5% off code, Spring0410

If it doesn't Light Up, Turn On, or Plug In, I don't want it!

Thanks for the heads up, question, I chose the ADATA RAM, I've never heard of it, is it good.
When you say "WD Blue 1TB spinner" do you mean HDD
What exactly do you mean when you say this; "AT LEAST push-pull fans, or a 240mm cooler!!"

Thanks for your help

I have the ADATA and it's good, I've used their other products also. They make a lot of other stuff like the SSD you have, and "XPG" is their higher end line. Just a little less well known than other RAM co's but still good.

Yes, the WD 1TB I referred to as a 'spinner' (old style mechanical HD) vs a SSD. The WD has a bigger (64MB vs 32) cache vs the basic choice, leading to better performance. Plus, it's the leading brand, depending on your config it's only $7 or $5 xtra.

If you do OC, you'd need 1 of 2 things. 1st, a 2nd fan mounted on the other side of the cooler radiator. This is referred to as a 'push-pull' (1 fan pushes the air into the rad., the other pulls it thru and out) fan setup, which provides for better CPU cooling than a single fan. The 2nd even better alternative is a 240mm cooler, that's 2 120mm fans placed side by side, for twice the surface area for heat dissipation vs only a 120mm cooler. That will fit in your case, which is a nice one. Push-pull is only $5 xtra on that model, the 240mm AseTek 570 or the DeepCool 240EX which is also a good buy I believe are only $30 or less additional to upgrade from your choice.

I have a GigaByte MoBo and I used the included GigaByte S'ware app, and there was also a more enhanced app from Intel included, and was able to OC w/ just a few clicks for optimum performance, so not really worth paying them $50 xtra. Enhanced cooling on the CPU will allow for a larger OC while keeping the system stable, since the OC produces xtra CPU heat, the enhanced cooling will keep that under control.

Looks perfect, you'll save big w/ the 5 off code also. I believe you'd still be entitled to chk off the free 240GB SATA SSD which you can use as a spare, today only (the 1 you have is faster, don't worry, they'll still put the OS on the 512 you selected). There's also a free lightstrip if you want.

If you're getting a kybd, the same $5 gets you the RGB promo worth $80, much better (Mar. Featured Promos - 1st line selections - free pad also).

I was wondering if you knew there have been multiple study’s done about push pull configurations and the results are shocking, a minor 3-4 degree difference. I am sure you are going to say you were aware of this seeing as many times as you post here but just an FYI. Also if anyone else reads this the 240mm coolers are the way to go, push pull is good for nothing! IMO
