Nioh 3 – The Game
Nioh 3 is developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo. It continues their award winning action RPG franchise that blends fast, technical combat with the deep customization of a deep Diablo-style loot systems and an extensive skill tree.
You’ll step in to the role of a new customizable protagonist and journey through an atmospheric reimagining of various points of Japanese history.
With bigger areas to explore, a dual Samurai–Ninja playstyle system, and a stronger emphasis on exploration, this threequel feels like the first Soulslike to truly internalize what players have loved about Elden Ring’s open world while keeping Nioh’s identity intact.
Nioh 3 Demo – Carry over save and Progress
Currently there is a free demo available. Not only is the demo generously long, allowing you to get a feel for the games open world, but it also allows you to carry all of your progress in to the full release if you decide to purchase it.
Nioh 3 – A New Elden Ring on The Block
Since Elden Ring set a new bar for open-world Soulslikes, developers been wanting to capitalize on this new approach to making a souls-like game. Nioh 3 steps up to the plate and nails elements that made Elden Ring such a compelling open world.
A Whole New (Open) World
Unlike its mission based predecessors, Nioh 3 expands into large open fields. These interconnected zones constantly reward exploration and curiosity and are full of optional challenges, various side objectives, and lot’s of hidden secrets that help strengthen your characters abilities. This free form approach to a souls like certainly borrows from Elden Ring’s Lands Between, but feels fresh and exciting with Nioh 3’s intense gameplay mechanics.
Deep Combat, With a New Twist
Where Elden Ring won gamers over with it’s build variety and number of options, Nioh 3 makes that combat depth look not so deep by comparison. At any one moment players can switch between Samurai and Ninja styles, switching between two tool sets and weapons. That’s not to mention Samurai mode’s 3 different stances (mid, high, and low) each with their own move set. Combine that with unlockable skill moves that can be swapped in out, it’s hard to think of an action game that gives you as much freedom to experiment with as this. This is all on top of a Diablo-like loot system that features gear with set bonuses. There is a lot here ton play around with and it is really satisfying find combinations of things that you enjoy.
Fantastic Reviews
Right now Nioh 3 is sitting at a respectable 87 on Metacritic. Critics are loving the flexibility of the combat, especially the dual move set of being able to switch between Samurai and Ninja mode, effectively giving you two different playstyles and builds at all time.
Besides all the excellent elements that existed in previous Nioh instalments, people are loving the new non linear approach with the open world that is full of interesting nooks and crannies that rewards curiosity.
Overall, Nioh 3 seems to not only be the best Nioh game, but a fantastic game to get you in to the series if you are unvitiated with the ways of the Nioh.
