The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K/KF Plus provide an up to 15% faster gaming performance versus existing Core Ultra Series desktop processors and up to 103% better multithreaded performance compared to competing CPUs in similar segmants
Let’s take a look at the main new specifications and features:
- More E-Cores: 4 more efficiency cores (E-cores) join the fun, which brings the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus up to 24 total Cores (8p+16E) and the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus to 18 cores (6P+12E)
- Boosted Frequencies: Both new Plus series processors feature up to 900Mhz boost to die-to-die frequency. This boosts gaming performance by driving system latency down through increasing the speed of the CPU/memory controller link by about 1 Ghz.
- Intel Binary Optimization Tool: Intel has a near 40 year history of workload optimization and this is leveraged in this new optimization technology. It sets up Intel’s performance roadmap for enthusiasts, opening up a feature of performance boosts beyond existing hardware advancements.
- Faster Memory Supported: Intel Core Ultra Plus series CPUs support DDR5 7200 MT/s memory, up from base Core Ultra that had support for up to 64000 MT/s DDR5. Additionally there is new compatibility for a Intel Core Ultra 200s Boost BIOS profile and warranty support for memory overclockers, up to 8000 MT/s. Intel continues to provide the most advanced memory controllers for PC enthusiasts who love pushing their hardware to the limit and squeezing out every drop of available performance.
- More RAM Supported: Intel Core Ultra Plus series offers support for up 4-rank CUDIMM memory, which packs a whopping 128GB of memory per module. This is an emerging technology, available on select Intel 800 Series chipsets.
The good news is that Intel Core Ultra 200s Plus desktop processors maintain compatibility with all 800 series chipset motherboards available right now. New models of this chipset motherboard will arrive throughout 2026, including some that enable early support for that aforementioned 4-Rank CUDIMM memory.
