The platformer video game Super Meat Boy Forever has been delayed past its initial scheduled release. The sequel to the 2010’s platforming modern classic Super Meat Boy was supposed to be released this April 26, 2019.

The announcement came via Twitter where the team discussed that they have been working on every bit of Super Meat Boy Forever at record speeds while keeping a healthy and sustainable pace. However, due to the same reason, the team will not be able to hit their promised April 2019 release.

Team Meat also said that even if they could sacrifice their minds, bodies, and social lives to make it to the game scheduled release date, the studio is an independent company and is not owned by any corporation. And that they choose not to run themselves into the ground.

Still, though, fans can be rest assured that the game will be released not too far after April 2019. The studio also confirmed that the updated release date will be revealed when the next game trailer is released.

Super Meat Boy Forever was first announced at the PAX 2014. At first, the game was initially planned to be a mobile-only version of Meat Boy, but it was eventually turned into the sequel of the first game that will feature a new control scheme and randomly generated levels.

The game is set to be published for a number of gaming consoles including Microsoft Windows gaming PC, Linux desktop, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, as well as iOS and Android mobile phones.
