How to Build a Gaming PC for Lost Ark

Lost Ark is an award-winning 2.5D action-fantasy MMORPG developed by Tripod Studio and Smilegate RPG. It was officially released in the United States last February 2022 and published by Amazon Games. Lost Ark has become so popular that 24-hours after its release, it immediately became the second most played game on Steam.

The game is designed for Windows gaming PC. If you’re planning to build a gaming PC to play Lost Ark, here’s a short and easy guide:

  1. Check the PC requirements of Lost Ark.
  2. Select the processor for your build.
  3. Choose a compatible graphics card.
  4. Get 16GB RAM or higher.
  5. Install a 1TB hard drive storage.
  6. Use a compatible motherboard for your PC.

1 – Check the PC requirements of Lost Ark.

Before anything else, you need to check the PC requirements for Lost Ark. The game has two types of specifications: minimum and recommended. To play Lost Ark, your gaming PC must follow these PC specifications from developers to make sure that you can have a smooth gameplay experience.

Minimum PC System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel i3 or AMD Ryzen 3
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / AMD HD6850
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Storage: 50GB available space
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection

Recommended PC System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel i5 or AMD Ryzen 5
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 50GB available space
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection

The recommended system requirements are the best choice between the two types of specifications. This way, you can run the game with the best gameplay experience. Another advantage of building a gaming PC based on the recommended system requirements is that it has higher hardware specifications and can run the latest PC games.

2 – Select the processor for your build.

For your gaming PC’s processor, you can stick with the minimum processor requirement, either an Intel i3 or AMD Ryzen 3. Intel i3 processors may range from $110 to $130, while AMD Ryzen 3 processors have prices ranging from $109 to $169. This may save you money. The disadvantage is that you might not be able to experience the game to its full potential.

However, if you have the budget, you can go with its recommended processor: an Intel i5 or AMD Ryzen 5. While it may cost you more, it can help your PC perform and load faster than its predecessor models. Intel i5 processors range from $129.99 to $149.99, while AMD Ryzen 5 processors cost $169 to $249.

3 – Choose a compatible graphics card.

Like your processor, it will be better if you install a higher model for your graphics card. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 costs $109 or higher. It features an advanced gaming GPU architecture loaded with innovative NVIDIA Game Ready technologies. This will let every gamer get the best gameplay experience possible.

This graphics card is powered by Pascal architecture. It is also designed to significantly improve your PC’s speed and power efficiency.

4 – Get 16GB RAM or higher.

The more RAM modules you install to your gaming PC, the better it is for its performance. While the minimum RAM requirement is 8GB, following the 16GB RAM as listed in the recommended system requirement is better. If you have the money, you might want to upgrade to a 24GB RAM, which means better performance and fast loading times.

The best brand of RAM in the market that you can choose from are Corsair, G.Skill, Kingston, Patriot, and Team T-Force.

5 – Install a 1TB hard drive storage.

To install Lost Ark, you need up to 50GB of available space in your hard drive. Most of the current SSD and HDDs in the market have 1TB memory. This is enough to download and install several games in your unit. SSD are smaller components that give more space and improve the airflow in your system. SSD also has a faster read-and-write process compared to HDD drives, so you might want to choose SSD over HDD.

However, you can still install an HDD in your unit. It can act as an additional hard drive to serve as a backup.

6 – Use a compatible motherboard for your PC.

Once you have all the components for your PC system, another important factor you need to consider is the motherboard. You should choose a motherboard compatible with all the other hardware components you purchased. Any disparity between the motherboard and your other hardware components can cause issues with your PC build. Some known brands in the market are MSI, Gigabyte, and ASUS.
