2023 was a fantastic year for games. Hit after hit released. While it may be hard to follow up that sort of quality and quantity of great games, 2024 looks to be shaping up to be another solid year of gaming. This list of games arriving in 2024 will be perfect to play on one of our gaming PCs and gaming laptops.
Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth – Jan 25
The follow up to Like A Dragon (Yakuza 8), Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth is the second game in the series to feature a new turn based combat system. Combining the best of the Yakuza Series with turn based JRPG combat, LAD: Infinite Wealth looks to be just a zany as the last game.
Tekken 8 – Jan 26
The popular fighting series returns with the 8th installment. Fans of fighting games should pick this one up. Tekken 8 promises a new “heat system” mechanic giving players the ability to harness aggressiveness. It gives your character access to special movements and enhances their abilities based on their unique features.
Hell Divers 2 – Feb 8
The first Hell Divers was a fun twin stick shooter. Hell Divers 2 is changing things up and is now a full 3d third person shooter. Squad based action against rising alien threats will push your shooting and strategy making to the limit.
Dragons Dogma 2 – March 21
The original Dragons Dogma is a popular, yet often overlooked roleplaying game that features innovative combat mechanics like scaling and grappling large creatures. If you haven’t played the first one, now is a great time to dive in and get a taste of what to expect. Gameplay of Dragons Dogma 2 is out now, check it out for yourself!
Destiny 2 The Final Shape – June 4
The Final Shape marks the conclusion of The Light and Darkness Saga. Shooting, looting, and new story beats are expected of course. Journey into the heart of the Traveler, rally the Vanguard, and end the War of Light and Darkness.
Black Myth Wukong – Aug 20
The upcoming action RPG rooted firmly in Chinese Mythology tells a story based on “The Journey to the West”. You play as the Destined one who ventures out to face great challenges, new marvels, and uncover the truth behind legends from the past. The game has some pretty stunning visuals so expect to need a beefy gaming PC if you want to get the most out of this game.
No Dates, but Expected for 2024
Avowed
First Person roleplaying game set in Eora, the world from the Pillars of Eternity games. If you enjoy the Elder Scrolls games this will be perfect for you. If Fallout New Vegas and The Outer Worlds are any indication of the quality Obsidian can produce with this type of game, than Avowed should be great!
Ark 2
Dinosaurs AND Vin Diesel. Those two alone are a big selling point. The sequel to the wildly popular survival game is set to come out sometime in 2024.
Star Wars Outlaws
Star Wars Outlaws looks to be a pretty ambitious Star Wars Game. It offers exploration across multiple planets, complete with bustling cities and cantinas – each complete with unique challenges and enticing rewards for those willing to take some risks. You play as a scoundrel, using your blaster, stealth, and gadgets to gain the upper hand. The roguish experience is capped off with a variety of daring heists. Fans of Star Wars games should keep their eyes on this one.
