Treyarch to Build Black Ops 4’s PC Version

American developer Treyarch announced that they are teaming up with Canadian-developer Beenox to custom-build a PC version for Black Op’s 4. The game will be exclusively available on Blizzard’s Battle.net as announced by its publisher Activision. It will also launch on the same date as console editions which is on October 12.

The news was announced at the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 event, where Treyarch showed a reel showcasing on how it’s working with Beenox to build the game’s PC version. They also stated that the game will feature dedicated servers, has an uncapped framerate, and will support 4k gaming PCs. The developers also said that weapon recoil and knockback for Black Ops on PC we’re perfectly designed for playing with keyboard and mouse controls.

“One of the things we’ve really wanted to focus on is PC gaming as its own unique platform,” said Dan Bunting, one of the studio heads in Treyarch. “This will give PC gamers what they deserve.”

According to Treyarch, they are working closely with both that dedicated team at Beenox to build the most robust and customizable PC experience one has ever seen, along with Blizzard. This was a first for the franchise and the company who have been releasing the franchise games on Steam.

This means that Black Ops 4 PC version will be fully integrated with all the social features found on Battle.net. Players will be able to add friends, talk with them, see them play other games, and also invite them to a party, and interact with them in-game.

Battle.net is a PC gaming platform that was established more than twenty years ago by Blizzard, which Activision acquired in 2008. It has been serving the popular games from Blizzard like World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Starcraft, Diablo, Heroes of the Storm, and the popular FPS multiplayer game, Overwatch. Black Ops 4, once released, will be the first Black Ops game to be officially launched on Battle.net.

Black Ops 4 will be coming to PC, XBox One, and PS4 on October 12. Players who will pre-order the game will receive access to the closed beta before the game is launched.
