Resident Evil 2 Remastered had already shipped 3 million copies worldwide in one week as announced by Capcom.
The news was announced by the company during their press release last January 29. According to Capcom, the remake of the fan-favorite game has shipped over 3 million, seven days after it was released in the market.
Resident Evil 2 Remastered is the remake of the 1998 horror survival video game, which was just released last January 25 for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One consoles. It was developed by Capcom R&D Division 1, a group of game developers that was created to remake the classic horror-survival game. The game follows the story of rookie police officer Leon Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they try to escape the zombie-infested Racoon City. Since its gameplay trailer and demo was released, critics have praised the remake by staying faithful to the original game and all its backdrop.

The 1998 Resident Evil 2 sold 5 million units after its released, and it seems that its current remake may surpass the record. This was quite expected since the rumors started that a remake of the game using the RE engine was currently in the works. For those of you who didn’t know, RE Engine was the same one Capcom used to create Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, which had a massive following due to its almost-realistic graphics and interactive plotline. It was then followed by the good reviews it received from players who had experienced to play its One-Shot demo.
