Mojang Studio, the creators of Minecraft, has finally announced the official release date for Minecraft Dungeons. This new spin-off game is a dungeon crawler set in the Minecraft universe. It will be released for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on May 26.

As Mojang describes it, Minecraft Dungeons is a spin-off of their popular online crafting game. But unlike the sandbox gameplay, this one is an action-adventure game that allows players to explore dungeons located in the Minecraft universe. Inside the dungeons, players must defeat monsters and solve puzzles to attain treasures.

According to the developers, Minecraft Dungeons was actually slated for an April 2020 release. But due to the current situation, its release date was moved for a month. They are still happy that fans will finally be able to explore the new game, though.

Furthermore, Mojang also confirmed that Minecraft Dungeons will not feature a class system. This allows players to use any item or equipment regardless of their chosen profession in the game.

Minecraft Dungeons also supports local and online co-op that allows players to play with up to three more friends.

Mojang also said that they will release additional content for the game, including two upcoming DLC packs. These DLC packs are included in the game’s Hero Edition.

Aside from Minecraft Dungeons, Mojang also released an AR mobile game called Minecraft Earth, which is currently in its Early Access mode.
