LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Gameplay

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is the latest open world Batman game, this time with a LEGO twist. It released May 22, 2026.

Rather than adapting a single film or comic run, Legacy of the Dark Knight tells an original story that draws from across decades of Batman media. Everything is here and represented in some way. Comics, films, animated series, and games all feed into a narrative that spans Bruce Wayne’s journey from becoming Batman to being a seasoned hero.

The game’s Gotham is larger than Arkham Knight’s. You can grapple across rooftops, glide through the Gotham skyline, and rip through the streets in a variety of iconic Batman vehicles. The world is stuffed with things to do. Riddler trophy puzzles return and there is tons to collect. All of this is displayed at your home base, the Batcave.

The combat system is a departure from the usual simple LEGO formula. It plays similar to the attack and counter system used in the Batman Arkham series. Each playable character has their own strengths, weaknesses, and abilities.
