Riot has announced the new champion coming to League of Legends, and it is no other than the Ruined King, Viego. The champion was already seen in the latest cinematic trailer the game has released on their official Youtube channel.
As shown in the trailer called Ruination, Viego hunted down Sienna, who seems to have his wife’s soul. To take back his wife, Viego unleashed a power so disruptive that it reached across all of Runeterra. We get to see Noxian champions, Darius and Samira, as they watched the ethereal green mist that Viego summoned. This green mist brought along hollow monsters the other Runeterra champions fought back to defend their lands. We get to see Karma, holding them off to protect Ionia. Then there’s Poppy along with Vayne, who tried to defeat the monsters who tried to attack the walls of Demacia.
The trailer also revealed one of Viego’s skills, which enables him to control other champions. His power was able to control Darius, who attacked Samira after he was taken over by the Ruined King’s power. Then there’s Karma, who was able to fight off his attack by using her own power. After getting his wife’s soul, Viego tried to kill Sienna, who was then saved by Lucian. He then wanders back to his dominion, bringing along the green mist that wreaked havoc.
Viego is the same Ruined King that will be featured in the Riot Forge and Airship Syndicate’s turn-based RPG, The Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. In League of Legends, he will be introduced as a jungler who can possess champions he defeats and cast a cloud of mist that allows him to camouflaged while gaining increased movement and attack speed.
