Genshin Impact has finally released the details of the upcoming 2.5 Update titled When the Sakura Bloom. Unlike the 2.4 Update, which focuses on Liyue, the new update brings the story back to Inazuma, where the Traveler must continue investigating Enkanomoya. A new Archon quest also implies that the Traveler will help Yae Miko with a problem involving the Raiden Shogun.
Genshin Impact 2.5 Update
The new update “When the Sakura Bloom” will start on February 16, 2022, and run until March 30, 2022. Aside from new Archon quests and Story quests, the update will also bring a new 5-star character, Yae Miko. There will also be new weapons, map changes, a new boss, and new enemies for the Traveler to defeat.
New Character – Yae Miko
It is finally confirmed that Yae Miko is the new 5-star playable character coming to Genshin Impact. Players were introduce to Yae Miko in the Electro Archon Quest. She is the head shrine maiden of the Narukami Shrine. She is a descendant of the Kitsune lineage. She is the descendant of the Kitsune Saiguu, who was worshiped by the people of Inazuma as a kitsune goddess.
Yae Miko has an Electro Vision and uses a catalyst as her weapon as a playable character. She will be available in her own Character Limited Banner Event, Guuji of the Grand Shrine. Thoma, Diona, and Fischl will also be featured in her banner.
Upcoming Banners
Aside from Yae Miko’s Event Banner, two banners will return in Genshin Impact 2.5. Raiden Shogun’s Reign of Serenity and Sangonomiya Kokomi’s Drifting Luminescence. This gives a chance to all players who weren’t able to pull Raiden Shogun and Kokomi in their previous run.
New Weapons
There will be two new weapons that are coming in the latest update. Both are catalysts, one will be featured in the upcoming Weapon Banner, and the second will be a reward for an upcoming event.
The new 5-star catalyst from the Weapon Banner is called Kagura’s Verify, while the second free weapon that will come as a reward is called Oathsworn Eye, a 4-star catalyst.
New Boss and Enemies
The new update introduces Raiden Shogun as a new weekly boss. Drop materials for the Raiden Shogun will be for Yae Miko, Ayato, and other upcoming characters.
Three new enemies will also come in the game, which players will encounter in Enkanomiya. These new enemies are Hydro Husk, Cryo Husk, and Pyro Husk. It will drop Dark Statuette, Deathly Statuette, and Gloomy Statuette.
