EA Announces FIFA 21 Release Date

FIFA 21

EA has finally revealed the release date for FIFA 21 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and gaming PC via Origin and Steam.

FIFA 21 will be launched for current-gen consoles and PC on October 9, 2020. EA also promises a free-upgrade to next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X for users who will buy the game’s PS4 and Xbox One version. However, EA hasn’t announced any release date for the next-gen consoles yet. But the video company stated that the official dates for FIFA 21 next-gen will be announced before this year ends.

The developers also confirmed that players can access the game earlier than the release date, depending on what version they purchased. FIFA 21 Champions Edition and FIFA Ultimate Edition will let players access the game on October 6. Users subscribed to EA Access, and Origin Access can also get the Play First trial of FIFA 21 starting October 21.

FIFA 21 will also use EA’s Dual Entitlement System, equivalent to Microsoft’s Xbox Smart Delivery. EA Dual Entitlement System is designed for both PlayStation and Xbox platforms. It is a program that will provide the next-gen upgraded version of FIFA 21 for free should a user purchase a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.

And the best thing about EA’s Dual Entitlement is that it can carry over saved data, including all your game progress and content. However, progress in online seasons, career mode, co-op seasons, and pro clubs will be tied to specific consoles, and will not be transferred if the user decides to upgrade.

The Dual Entitlement will be available for both physical and digital purchases. But EA also noted that users with physical copies of FIFA 21 on PS4 must buy a disc drive along with the PS5 to be able to play the game’s upgraded version.
