Dead by Daylight has a new killer to the game, The Onryo. She was introduced as the Killer of the latest Chapter DLC released for gaming PC this month, titled Chapter XXIII: Sadako Rising. And yes, the Onryo is no other than the iconic horror character, Sadako, from The Ring franchise.
In the game, Sadako is an onryo, a vengeful ghost that has the power of Nensha. She can invisibly travel the Realm and manifest when she is about to strike the Survivors with her abilities. To know more about her in-game character, check the details below.
Lore – Killer Story
Sadako Yamamura is a powerful and lethal onryo. She was once the daughter of a famed seer from Izu Oshima, Japan. Even as a child, she has been gifted with immense powers beyond her control. And this power further flared in her anger. She demonstrated this power when a journalist called her mother a fraud. Sadako’s powers surged, and the journalist collapsed on the floor, dead in no time.
When her mother passed, people in her hometown grew in fear of her. They lured her to an old and crumbling well, And as she leaned over its rim, she felt a jolt of pain hit her over the head. She then felt two hands push her over the edge.
Her anger eventually resurrected her into an onryo — a violent and unforgiving spirit.
Unique Perks – Abilities
Call of Brine
After damaging a Generator, this perk activates for 60 seconds.
- The Generator will regress at 150/175/200% of the normal Regression speed, and its Aura gets revealed.
- Each time a Survivor gets a Good Skill Check on a Generator affected by Call of Brine, you will receive a Loud Noise Notification.
Merciless Storm
- Whenever a Survivor repairs a Generator to 90%, they will experience a continuous set of Skill Checks.
- If the Survivor misses one, the Generator will get blocked by the Entity for 16/18/20 seconds.
- This perk will only trigger once per Generator per Trial.
Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage
- At the trial’s start, four random Hooks will change into Scourge Hooks. The Auras of these Scourge Hooks will be in white.
- Each time a Survivor is unhooked from a Scourge Hook, the Auras of all the other Survivors will reveal for 5/6/7 seconds.
