Dambuster Studios Takes on Dead Island 2

Deep silver dambuster studious will be the new developer of Dead Island 2 for gaming pc.

After Sumo Digital announced their decision to conclude their work on the zombie-survival video, Dead Island, another studio has taken over the project and future development of the series.

Deep Silver Dambuster Studios now serves as the new developer of Dead Island and will be responsible for continuing the development of the long-standing zombie game. They are now the lead developer for Dead Island 2. According to sources, the transition has been planned for some time and will have no impact or whatsoever on British video game company Sumo Digital’s business or financial outlook. The people at Sumo Digital also said that they look forward to Dead Island 2’s release and wishes THQ Nordic great success.

As for the transition itself, Sumo Digital didn’t mention if the progress they achieved on the development of Dead Island 2 from 2016 to 2019 will be transferred over to Dambuster Studio. That could be possible, or if not, then Dambuster Studio will have to start the development of the sequel from scratch.

Dambuster Studio is the third developer to work on the project. The Dead Island 2 project was first given to Specs Ops: The Line Studio from 2012 to 2016 before it was transferred to Sumo Digital. That means that the game has been under development for seven years now, and it seems that fans would have to wait for a few more years before its release.

Dead Island 2 was first announced at E3 2014 and was scheduled to be released in 2015. For those who don’t know, the first game was developed by Polish video game developer, Techland. Since then, Techland has already released Dying Light, another zombie-survival title which acts as a spiritual successor to Dead Island. Its sequel is now almost complete and is scheduled to launch next year for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, Linux desktops, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and iOS X devices.
