Star Trek: Beyond will be in theaters soon. That means will see Captain Kirk, Spock, and the rest of the Enterprise Crew in action. But if that’s not enough to excite you, then I’m sure this one will. During Ubisoft Press Conference at E3 2016, there was a showcase for Star Trek: Bridge Crew. It is a virtual simulation game that puts players aboard the starship Aegis.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew lets you take one of the four roles:

● Captain

                        – give and command orders.

● Helm

                        – the one charge for the starship’s speed and positioning.

● Tactical

                        – the one who handles the ship’s weapons and shields.

● Engineering

                        – the one in charge of the ship’s power distribution and repairs.

You can either play with your three friends or on your own and let the AI fill in for the other roles. But the former is ideal as long as your friends own a great gaming PC that can run a VR headset. Especially since the game allows you to see each other in VR and talk to each other with integrated voice chat. You can also gesture to each other by using a set of motion controllers. And what made it more exciting is to experience all of these through a VR headset.

The game will follow the story of the Aegis on a mission to find a new home for the people of Vulcan. In addition to the story, players can randomly generate missions as well. However, the game won’t focus on combat. Instead, players should expect on getting exploration missions and rescue mission. It doesn’t change the fact though that teamwork will be the main key to the game.

As of now, Star Trek: Bridge Crew is still in development. There are several features yet to be revealed by its developers. But expect the game to be launch in the fall of 2016 for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR.

Make it so!
