Pragmata Gameplay

Pragmata is Capcom’s first original IP in a bit, and it has been a long time coming. Announced way back in 2020, it would end up being a long and winding development. It uses Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, the same engine used in a bunch of their modern games. Pragmata is a slick third-person experience with a fresh gameplay hook that makes for an interesting twist on the usual third person shooting.
You play as Hugh, an investigator who is sent out to a remote lunar research facility that suddenly went dark. The facility belongs to the Delphi Corporation, who discovered a transformative resource known as Lunam Ore. When refined, this mineral is turned into Lunafilament, which can be used to 3D print almost any known material from just the data. When Hugh’s team arrives, a lunar quake strikes (NOT an earthquake) , scattering the crew. Hugh is rescued by Diana, designated D-I-03367, a lone android who looks like a little girl wandering the complex . The two pair up to form an unlikely duo in order to survive the station, know under control of a rogue AI, and find a way back to Earth.
Combat is where Pragmata truly distinguishes itself. Every encounter has this dual layer going: Hugh handles movement, shooting, and traversal, while Diana’s hacking system is mapped to its own input, running simultaneously. Enemy robots are armored and bullet-resistant, so you will need to use Diana to hack into their defense systems via a grid-based node interface, which you navigate with the mouse while holding alt on your keyboard (face buttons if you are using a controller). You are managing two things at once, under fire, in real time. It’s demanding and keeps you on your toes, and adds an interesting wrinkle on the usual third person shooter gameplay.
Pragmata PC System Requirements
As mentioned, Pragmata runs on the RE Engine, which has a strong track record for solid PC optimization. Despite the game’s solid visuals, the spec requirements are pretty approachable. As expected, ray tracing requires a more capable GPU on top of the standard recommended spec.
