In the recent 2017 financial results debrief, CD Projekt Red President Adam Kicinski finally revealed a few details about their upcoming RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. He confirmed that the launch version of the game will be a single-player experience. However, he also said that he is not ruling out the possibility of multiplayer for its expansion.

“We’re going to deliver players a huge, story-driven role-playing game for a single player, as was the case with The Witcher 3,” said Kicinski. “As to further extensions of the game, I don’t like to comment on that, but I’m not saying it’s not going to be the case because we already said in the past that we wanted our future projects to integrate online components at some point.”

Aside from its possible multiplayer mode, Kicinski also confirmed some details that were long speculated by most gamers. He explained that the game will allow players to create their character and can range from various classes.

Kicinski also made it clear that the Cyberpunk 2077 will have no micro-payments or whatsoever, and that the game will be purchased for a one-off fee similar to their other game, The Witcher 3.

Lastly, CD Projekt Red also gave another hint that Cyberpunk 2077 could bridge the gap between the current generation of the consoles we have and the next ones that will be released in the market.

With the technology we have, CD Projekt Red said Cyberpunk 2077 is very technology-wise and is ready to interface with the future generation. It is developed in such a way it can use the powerful future equipment. However, the company didn’t disclose the consoles compatible with the game since no announcement have been made yet.

CyberPunk 2077 is set in an open world futuristic metropolis known as the Night City. Its development was first announced in 2012 and was followed by a cinematic teaser trailer in 2013. It was confirmed that the game will be released for Microsoft Windows PCs and gaming laptops, as well as PlayStation 4. No release date has been confirmed by the CD Projekt Red as of now.
