Thoughts from Westrice 2

By Jonathan “Westrice” Nguyen of Complexity Gaming

So there’s a lot of downtime lately, especially since Worlds is still going on, so I’m just going to talk about what myself and the team has been up to recently. You may have noticed compLexity members moved out of the house during the downtime between our relegation match and the expansion tournament to visit family and take some time off. We’re on the verge of practicing again and about to go hard for the last two LCS spots.

Losing to T8 was like a wakeup call to me. It told me that something needed to change. I felt like we were the better team coming in with a solid game plan, but in the end it didn’t matter. As we learned T8’s game plan, we applied it to game 3 and 4, but we totally forgot about it game 5. It was the “Calitrlolz flank with a flanking champion” plan. We applied that knowledge for 2 games, but forgot about it game 5. So our biggest weakness right now is consistency, and I think that’s the biggest thing our team needs to look at before going into the expansion tournament.

I still think we are an LCS level team, and we just need to prove it to everybody by making it back in. If we don’t make it back in, then we don’t deserve to be there. It’s as simple as that. The expansion tournament should be easier since there’s only challenger teams that didn’t make it into the LCS in the first place, but we don’t want to underestimate anybody. We want to be there for the fans next season that supported even after the moment we got relegated. Thanks for the support guys 🙂 We’ll be back!
