5 Fallout 4 Weapons You Should Have (And Where to Find Them)

It’s been weeks since Fallout 4 has been released and based on the reviews, it looks like fans have been having a great time on the Wasteland with Dogmeat using their gaming PCs. And of course, one of the best things about the game that players are always looking forward for are the weapons. And while Fallout 4 is still hot, we might as well take this opportunity to name our favorite weapons—oh, and to top it all up, we also added some info on where you can find them.

• Cryolator

Cryolator

Type: Rifle
Bonus: Freezes enemies
Location: The Cryolator is in a case with a Master Lock in Vault 111.

The weapon creates a cryogenic spray when fired that fades away at mid-range. Firing continuously at an enemy may freeze it solid and render it unable to move or attack for a period of time. Tougher enemies will take longer to be affected, though, some are also completely immune. It comes with a generous supply of cryo cell ammunition, but finding more is extremely difficult, so use it judiciously.

• Big Boy

Big Boy

Type: Missile launcher
Bonus: Fires two Mini-Nukes at once
Location: You can buy the Big Boy at the Diamond City Market, from Arturo.

The “Big Boy” is a Legendary Fat Man with the Two-Shot mod, allowing it to shoot two mini nukes at once for the cost of only one, giving it the most damage potential from a single shot in the entire game. Warheads are rare and expensive, so more literal bang for your buck is a great deal. One tip for collecting more is if super mutant suicide bombers are charging at you, aim for their heads, rather than their bombs.

• Deathclaw Gauntlet

Deathclaw Gauntlet

Type: Claw/Gauntlet
Bonus: None
Deathclaw GauntletYou’ll have to start a quest called The Devil’s Due to get this weapon.

The deathclaw gauntlet appears as a set of fingerbones from a Deathclaw, with a metal ring and handle attached via screws to make a deadly handheld weapon. Like all unarmed weapons, the deathclaw gauntlet cannot be used while wearing Power Armor, as they cannot fit over the large, remote-controlled hands of a power armor frame.

• Alien Blaster Pistol

Alien Blaster Pistol

Type: Pistol
Bonus: None
Location: It can be found near Oberland Station, during event Alien Crash Site. This event occurs if you are lvl 14+. Look for a little alien in a nearby cave.

The gun is very futuristic in appearance, with a chrome and red paint job. It fires blue bolts of energy, and deals 55 damage without any pistol perks. With maximum levels in science this weapon can be modified to run using fusion cells. This reduces the damage by one point and lowers the battery size but allows for continued use of the weapon once its standard ammo cells are depleted. The downside to this weapon is its large shot size and low projectile speed – these can lead to shot missing to clipping cover where a normal round would have gone through.

• Lorenzo’s Artifact Gun

Lorenzo’s Artifact Gun

Type: Gun
Bonus: Severe enemy knockback.
Location: Lorenzo’s Artifact Gun can be obtained only if you decide to kill Lorenzo in Parsons State Insane Asylum, during the Secret of Cabot House quest.

Not strictly a true unique weapon, it is rather a standard Gamma gun with a unique weapons modification, the Lorenzo’s Artifact. This modification changes the weapon mechanic significantly of a Gamma gun; the projectile may significantly knock back enemies. Yes, with this gun you can knock your enemies on their butts like you’re Yoda. It’s a fun, powerful, and totally unique effect.
