Subnautica is an adventure, survival game that lets players dive into a vast underwater world filled with alien lifeforms and unknown creatures. Subnautica has its own, unique ecosystem for players to discover, including predators to watch. And here are some of the most dangerous animals you might want to avoid in the game:

Crabsnake

The Crabsnake in Subnautica is an aggressive creature that has long, serpentine body with two long translucent fins along sides of its body, which emits a violet bioluminescent glow. The most dangerous thing about the Crabsnake is the small pair of fangs in its mouth along with a large pair of black-tipped claws around it.

Sea Dragon Leviathan

The Sea Dragon Leviathan or more commonly known as Sea Dragon. Currently, it is the largest aggressive creature in Subnautica. It is a large, aquatic species that has adapted to volcanic environments. Although it’s body mostly resemble the Sea Emperor, the Sea Dragon Leviathan is smaller and is known for its dark green colored skin.

Crabsquid

The Crabsquid is a carnivorous lifeform with a body made of two layers: a translucent bulbous sac and a brown-green squid-like mantle. You can usually find it in the Blood Kelp Zone and the Deep Grand Reef. This creature is best known for its ten limbs. Some of them have pointed tips, the others have fins, while the two shortest ones near its mouth are pincers.

Reaper Leviathan

The Reaper Leviathan is currently the second largest aggressive lifeform in Subnautica. You can find this creature in the Aurora, Crash Zone, Dunes, and Mountains. This colossal creature has a long and muscularly built body with four caudal fins and two pectoral fins. It usually emits a loud and menacing roar that you can easily hear from a great distance.

Warper

The Warper, unlike the other creatures in Subnautica, is a cyborg life form which can open a teleportation gate. What makes the Warper dangerous is that it can shoot projectiles that can cause lots of damage. It has a purple, cloak-like membrane that covers its translucent pale blue body.

Sea Treader

The Sea Trader may perhaps be a defensive creature, which makes it more dangerous when threatened. Its body consists of a large torso with long, double-jointed back legs. If you try to swim in front of it, the Sea Treader will automatically attack you.

Ampeel

The Ampeel is an aggressive lifeform usually found in the Koosh Zone and the Blood Kelp Zone.  This massive, serpentine creature is known for its powerful zaps of bio-electricity. The Ampeel’s shocking attack can deal 15% damage, while it’s bite can take away 45% from your health bar.

Stalker

The Stalker is a carnivorous lifeform usually found in the Kelp Forest. It is a giant creature that possesses an elongated, fusiform body, and a long snout similar to a crocodile. Upon close encounters, the Stalker will immediately attack the player. Each bite from this creature can deal 30% damage, so be cautious when exploring the Kelp Forest.

For those of you who haven’t tried Subnautica yet, the game is available on Steam for Windows and Mac OS X gaming desktops and laptops. It also supports Oculus Rift that allows players to experience it on VR.
