Sony is Currently Developing a Crossfire Movie

Sony announced that it is currently developing a film adaptation of the popular online shooter video game, Crossfire.

The movie will be produced by Neal H. Mortiz, who worked on films like the Fast and Furious and Sonic the Hedgehog. Its screenplay, on the other hand, will be written by Chuck Hogan as reported by The Variety.

It is also reported that Sony has partnered with Crossfire’s developer Smilgate for the film’s production. Tencent, the media conglomerate, which published Crossfire in China, has also joined the team. They will be co-producing and financing the movie.

As of this writing, the companies have not released any details, either by checking about its plot or casting. They also didn’t announce anything about the release window of the movie.

Crossfire was initially released in 2007 for Microsoft Windows gaming PC. Its first-ever console version, CrossfireX, is coming to Xbox this 2020. It was co-developed by Remedy Entertainment, the studio that worked behind Control and Alan Wake.
