Plot

Hello, Neighbor puts you in place of an unknown protagonist who moves into a brand new suburb, who notices that his neighbor seems to be hiding something in his basement. Due to this curiosity, he decided to sneak into the basement of his neighbor’s house to uncover the “secret” he’s hiding.
Gameplay
The game starts by featuring the player moving into a new house across the street of a mysterious man. A neighbor who seems to be keeping a secret in his basement. After the introductions, the player is then tasked to break into the neighbor’s house. The player must then gather items needed to unlock and access his basement. The goal is for the player not to be spotted by the neighbor while exploring the house. If he is seen, he will be chased down. If ever the neighbor caught the player, he will be sent back to his own house and will have to break in again.
In this game, the player has four inventory spaces. The player must note though that items of the same kind cannot be stacked together in the same inventory space.
Features
Aside from its fantastic Pixar-style visuals and incredibly tense gameplay, Hello Neighbor features an procedural AI which modifies the neighbor’s behavior based on the player’s past actions, which includes setting traps along paths the player used in a previous attempt. This means that each attempt will be more challenging and harder than the first.
Hello Neighbor features a suspenseful horror game that isn’t about jump scares. It focuses on sneaking and hiding. It also has a sandbox-style gameplay that allows players plenty of environmental interaction and physics.
