In our previous article last August, we mentioned Bethesda’s plan to release a beta for Fallout 76. And now, we’re finally getting the release date. Last September 27, Bethesda announced the launch of Fallout 76 Beta for PlayStation 4 and gaming PC on October 30, two weeks ahead of the official launch of the game.

According to Bethesda, they want players to try their best in breaking the game. They also said that the servers won’t be up 24/7 during the release, which means the servers will only be up during specific hours. It was a move from the developers to get as many players as possible, logging all at the same time so they can test if their server and systems can fully take it.

The developers also confirmed that the beta will be between four to eight hours. Once done, the server will shut down, and immediate fixes/updates will be made to improve the game. The process will continue daily until before the actual game is launch to the public.

All the updates made on the servers and systems will be posted by Bethesda on their Twitter accounts, Bethesda Forums, and Status Page.

About the beta’s content, it is said to be set within the confines of Vault 76 during the Reclamation Day. Players will be able to explore the vault and its surrounding. The beta will give players a better understanding of Fallout 76’s multiplayer setting and gameplay.

To assure the quality of the beta content, Bethesda said that they are prepared for any issues that may arise during the beta release. They also promised that more information about the beta game will be released before its launch.

Fallout 76 is the newest installment in the Fallout series, following Fallout 4. It is set in an open-world environment and will feature the series’ first multiplayer setting. It will also stand as the sequel of all the other Fallout games as it is set in the year 2102, twenty-five years after the nuclear war happened and destroyed most of Earth’s surface. The game will allow the player to take control of an unnamed character tasked by the Vault Overseer with a mission to explore the wasteland.
