A new talk has been circling the gaming industry, and it’s about the possible remake or reboot of the Dino Crisis game. This started when Capcom filed a new trademark for Dino Crisis with the Japan Patent Office. Aside from the Dino Crisis, other games were also trademarked, including such as Breath of Fire, Darkstalkers, and Mega Man.
A Japanese website known as Chizai-Watch confirmed that Capcom has filed for these new trademarks last November 19. And the trademarked games were published last December 17.
The last time Capcom has trademarked Dino Crisis was two years on February 5, 2018, and was granted on December 28, 2018.
Capcom’s recent actions started rumors that a Dino Crisis reboot is going to happen, which the company responded that no discussion has been made yet. But in 2017, Capcom’s development team posted on Twitter that a new Dino Crisis would be possible if more people wished for it.
With the success of remakes like Resident Evil 2 and the development of the Resident Evil 3 remake, Capcom may be considering to remake some of their best games. And it might be possible that we get to see Dino Crisis in a new light. It will also be able to reach to new console players if it’s released for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.
The original Dino Crisis was released in 1999 and was then followed by two more sequels.
