Last month, Riot released its newest champion, a deceptive burst mage by the name of Neeko. According to her lore, Neeko is a shape-shifter that came from a long lost-tribe of Vastaya, a human and chameleon hybrid who watches the world with curiosity.

Today, we’re going to break down a list of strategies and tips on how you can use her abilities to her advantage.

Playing as Neeko, she can easily slip into the skin of her allies to surprise her enemies with bursts of her primordial magic. Her magical abilities include Tangle-Barbs, which allows her to trip up her foes, and  Blooming Burst to root her enemies. There is also the Inherent Glamour to mimic one of her allies and run off to a new encounter, and Shape Splitter to transform into one of her allies and confuse her enemies. Lastly, she has the ultimate ability called Pop Blossom to deal massive damage to her enemies and stun them at the same time.

By using the right skills at the right time, Neeko can control the tide of battles, start a clash or end it, then scurry off by turning into a different champion. With stealth and powerful burst damages, she is the perfect champion for players who have a passive-aggressive approach.

Summoner’s Rift

Mid Lane: Doran’s Ring, Sorcerer’s Shoes, Luden’s Echo, Morellonomicon, Lich Bane, Void Staff, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Hextech Protobelt, Zhonya’s Hourglass, and Twin Shadows

Jungler: Sorcerer’s Shoes, Hunter’s Talisman, Stalker’s Blade, Morellonomicon, Lich Bane, Void Staff, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Hextech Protobelt, Zhonya’s Hourglass, and Twin Shadows

Strategy

Inherent Glamour and Shape Splitter is the best skill she can use to her advantage, allowing her to transform into one of her allied champions.

  • Transform into one of your allies with a melee-ranged attack, then catch them by surprise by throwing your long-ranged skills such as Tangled-Barbs and Blooming Burst.
  • Another strategy you can try is to disguise yourself as your team’s jungler, then pull off a fake gank in another lane. There’s a big possibility that you will exhaust their escape moves, or be distracted when the real gank starts.
  • You can also transform into one of your low-health allies and act as bait, then jump onto them by using your ultimate ability Pop Blossom.
  • The last tip is to make sure to coordinate with your team members in executing your transforming abilities.
