It’s been months since the news of a new and original Dota 2 Hero will be released by the end of this year. Sun Wukong or Monkey King is a mythical creature known for his mischief that was punished by the gods. And now that he has gained back his freedom, he is back to entertain the world with his tricks and power to show them who’s the real king.
And true to their promise, Valve released the official details regarding Monkey King’s skills. Let’s check them out!
Boundless Strike
Monkey King’s legendary Jingu Bang staff grows as he slams it into the ground, stunning enemies it hits in a line and damaging them with a critical hit based on his attack. This skill ensures that no enemy can escape the Monkey King’s reach.
Tree Dance
This skill allows Monkey King to jump to a tree and stay atop. He gains the Primal Spring ability. If the tree where he sat atop is destroyed, Monkey King falls to the ground and is stunned for 4 seconds.
Primal Spring
Monkey King springs out from the tree, landing in an area and damaging any enemies on it. This skill only activates when perched on a tree, thus shares an ability level with Tree Dance.
Jingu Mastery
Jingu Mastery is a passive skill. Monkey King’s basic attacks awaken the Jingu Bang’s power. Upon the fourth hit on the same enemy hero, Monkey King will earn four charged attacks that have bonus damage and life steal.
Mischief
Sun Wukong was born for mischief. This skill allows him to change shape and deceive opponents by using the environment nearby as his inspiration for the disguise. He can transform to an animal courier, iron branch, clarity, healing salve, town portal scroll, tango, and even to a rune. Taking damage or attacking him will break his disguise.
Revert Form
It transforms Monkey King back to his original form.
Wukong’s Command
Monkey King will create a circular formation of soldiers that are spread out from his position. If he leaves the area, his soldiers will disperse. The soldiers have Monkey King’s attack and will only target heroes. All of his soldiers will receive bonus damage for the spell’s duration.
According to Dota 2 Gamepedia, Sun Wukong is an agility type hero that works out as a carry. His ability to deceive and leap to the trees to avoid his enemies gives him an advantage over his foes. Plus, his ability to deal immense damage with his magic staff and to summon clones makes him a force to reckoned with.
