To save money, try these tips:

1) Configure a "Mega Special" computer with a "Free Shipping" tag on it.
2) You can try entering "repeat" for 5% off, but CP my call you out on it.  If they do, switch the code to:
3) Enter the code "myspace" for $30 off.  I'm not sure if it's expired yet or not though.

Hope these tips help you out!

Just google promo codes for every online purchase to see what I can get. Couple of good sites show up at top.

A search for promo codes usually turns up good results. Also in google you can modify your search to only include results from the last month or week (under more search options), so that you're more likely to get an updated code. Personally i like http://promocodeshare.com for quality promo codes, but they don't have every retail store.

So if I find one that works, it's all good right? Won't get me in trouble?

Use "spring0410" for 5% off.

The Mega Special build is for systems without an operating system, If you need one use a different base.

About the cheapest "i5' Base you can get is the GAMER XTREME 1000.

Always:
select name brand RAM
Corsair, Coolmaster or at least the Thermaltake "tough power" series PSU.
"K" series cpu's can be overclocked.
