This may well be a "custom MOBO" built for CP, not a retail version. If this is so a factory BIOS update will not work. You can look on the CP support page to see if there is a link for updates. You can E-mail support.

We have seen this with MOBO's & RAM that are "OEM" products not retail. People can find this out when they select a component if they take the time to look at "more info" if it comes up blank it is an OEM product. If it is retail you see all the specs and there may be a link that routes you to the manufactures age.

Unless something is wrong there is no need to just update a BIOS for the heck of it.

Ok thank you. I am wondering though is it possible to overclock my CPU with this motherboard? No where did it say this was custom made for CP computers when I purchased this computer.

Well it does in a way. You have to look at the "more info" tab. If your not familiar with this route I understand your train of thought. Yes nothing comes right out and says this. When you hover over a components and click the more info tab. Then while in that view you see a tab that looks like a sheet of paper and click it. If it comes up blank you ran across a custom OEM for CP. If the info expands and a link is within this area. It will take you to the manufactures site. Then you have a true retail version of the RAM or MOBO, etc.

What cpu do you have, an Intel "K" series you can overclock.

I have the KF series. I feel like purchasing this PC was a bad idea. It came with crappy ram and looked nothing like the picture advertised (ik thats what they do) and now they have their own specific parts where you have to go on a goose chase to see if its authentic or theirs. This company is BS

CP states the photo's are just for advertising.

The CP OEM components you need to read and be aware of what your buying. They have not been up front as they should. You can tell you have a CP branded component anytime you see their name in front of it or when you select more info. If a link doesn't come up taking you to the manufactures website you have a CP OEM component.

Not goo to have to go to that much trouble to see if yo have a retail version.
