Windows 8 does not have built-in DVD playback support. In order to obtain DVD playback support, users have the following choices:

1. Windows 8 Pro users may choose to purchase Media Center, which will allow some playback features.

2. Windows 8 users will need to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro if they wish to purchase/obtain the Media Center Add-on.

3. Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 users may obtain/purchase any other 3rd party playback software of their choice.

*NOTE: For a limited time, Microsoft is providing Windows 8 Pro users Media Center for Free.
Reference: Windows 8 Feature Packs

For anyone with CyberLink PowerDVD 11 and below, please understand that these versions DO NOT function with Windows 8.
