Hi. I'm trying to configure a computer that will be best for my needs. I chose these 3 below in hoping 1 will be best for me. I use my computer for the following items below. Thanks so much for your help.

I'm a little unsure about a few things such as what case, power supply, hard drives, processor, video cards, fans etc.

I will use this computer to

1. Have multiple stock trading platforms open at once.
2. 25-50 browser tabs open at once.
3.Multiple Word and Excel documents open at once.
4. Camtasia Recorder Screen Capture recording.
5. Multiple Adobe things open at once.
6. Some various other things open.

Any specific configuration or particular computer recommended would also be appreciated.

Please feel free to ask me any questions. Thanks again.

I wouldn't get the open loop liq. cooling, it requires maintenance like refilling. The 1st 1 (Gamer Infinity) has free shipping, saving you $75 over the 2nd. Be sure to use code Spring0410 for 5% off.

A few items -

NEVER get the std PSU, can fry your system, get a Brand Name, 750-850W.

Buy a branded MoBo rather than unknown specs CP rebrand.
Why did you select 2400Mhz RAM? Same price gets you faster 3000Mhz, and ADATA branded which is good (unknown 'major brand' may be generic low end).
$5 promo RGB kybd worth $80, instead of the crap one.
Don't let CP OC, they do it wrong, easy to do yourself. If you're gonna try to OC close to that, you need better CPU cooling or it will melt down. 240mm closed loop AIO (like Corsair H100 or DeepCool 240EX), or at least push-pull fans on the 120mm cooler.
I would add fans to the cases, Corsair AF120 recommended.
Are you sure you need a 1080 Ti GPU without doing gaming/graphics? What are you using the Adobe apps for (which ones)? If you use the VR Ready Deal GTX 1080 starting base, you can get a 240GB SSD free w/ any spinner HD (2 or 3GB is a good size). Your choices include an M.2 SSD you can't delete, so you can't save w/ the free SSD, you're stuck w/ 2 SSD's in those instances. Then for $25 I'd get the MSI Gaming or EVGA SC Gaming GTX 1080, both w/ 2 fans, up from the std GTX 1080.
I'd get the shipping warranty, in case you have to send it back for repairs in the 1st yr (heavy item, they only cover shipping for 30 days otherwise).

You are doing very heavy multitasking, you may need to consider a Ryzen 8 core (1700X) or Threadripper CPU, or even the Intel 10 core 7900X, but that is much more expensive.

I'm counting like 75 windows open (50 browser), I've never heard of that, is that even possible? This rig has an Intel 10 core X series CPU which should handle anything (a $675 U/G). Not sure how it compares against Threadripper, which would be cheaper. Just a suggestion, see if anyone else chimes in.

Thanks so much for your input. This is a great help.

Here are a few responses below.

1.      1. When I click on the configuration I get a message the free 240GB WD Green Series SATA-111 SSD for desktop canít load. Is there another option you would suggest? Iím a little confused when Iím looking at the options.

2.      2.  Just to make sure Iím trying to configure it so the SSD is my main drive and the 3TB is my drive to store things on. Is that correct in this configuration?

3.      3. The browser is referring to Google Chrome. I usually have around 25 tabs open as Iím researching and working on things. Sometimes I can have more like around 50 but thatís probably rare.

4.      4. The adobe pages are just PDF files that I sometimes have open. Maybe 5 of them at a time.

5.     5.  I was choosing the 1080Ti because thatís what was recommend to me but maybe I donít need it. Do you think I should go with the i9-7900TX in this configuration for my use or do you think I donít need it and should get something like the i7-7740 or something else in the list of choices? I would rather spend the extra money if itís suggested but not of course if itís just overkill for my use.

6.     6.  Once I receive the computer do you recommend I overclock it since you said itís easy to do yourself or should I not even bother?

Thanks again for taking the time to help.

The free SSD deal ended. Just choose the SSD, which will be set up as the main drive, and the spinner HD for storage.
I thought you might be doing Adobe vid editing. I think a GTX 1080 would be more than enuf, or even a 1070, since you're not using any graphic intensive apps.
Not sure exactly which CPU you'd need for that many open windows. I wouldn't get the 7740X, just get the i7-8700K if you don't want the i9, or consider Ryzen/Threadripper. That i9 build was just a suggestion, you may not really need that CPU, ask around.
I wouldn't bother w/ the OC since these are powerful CPU's. If you wanna do it later to get a little xtra, I'd recommend push-pull fans on the CPU cooler if you just get a 120mm.

Ok thanks. I only see options i7-7820X, i7-7800X, and the i7-7740X as options below the i9-7900TX.

Do I have to have a different configuration for the i7-8700K?

Yes, use your 1st config, Gamer Infinity, for the 8700K. Or try the VR Ready Deal GTX 1080 or 1070 Ti, may be better deals if you don't need the 1080 Ti GPU. Also try Mega Special VR GTX 1070, that already has 32GB, don't know which would come out cheaper, depends on selections.

Running that many browser windows, excel, word and camtasia I'd honestly recommend and i9 or Threadripper with 32GB RAM. The Threadripper would be cheaper of the two. Those are the types of processors built for extreme multitasking.

Depending on what your stock trading programs require on top of that I think the current version of camtasia recommends a quad core i5 and recommends 8GB RAM off the top.

You're talking about pretty heavy duty multitasking. I'm not sure I'd necessarily recommend an i7 in this case (I can bog down an i7 under multitasking like that, which is why I ordered a Threadripper)..

I'd probably even run a larger SSD if possible depending on the size of the other programs to try and keep as many of the running programs running off the SSD.

Techlord, yes the 50-75 windows is possible depending on what you're doing, now if they're running scripts or anything off those browser windows in addition to pretty much anything this is going to put a serious strain on the system resources.

I'd be more concerned about the processor or RAM in this instance. I'm not so sure a 1080 is necessary unless you're multi monitoring and/or the trading programs are running a lot of live data.

Looks like the i9 was a good idea, unless you wanna look at a ThreadRipper. Prolly w/ just a 1070 GPU. I was wondering if that smallish SSD would be enuf, 500GB is more versatile. NVMe SSD's are faster (M.2)
