outlook crashes more often in MAC. more credits to updates in the OS.
you will find your mails vanished after the update of OS. however they still are present in your system. its just that the outlook finds itself uncomfortable with the new OS.
deleting outlook and reinstalling is not even an option cause in this case you will lose your mails permanently.
"rebuild" option in outlook is another bad idea cause outlook directly deletes the corrupted mails, no matter how much they valued to you.

the last option buy any tool that could recover your mails

this is a considerable option, if and only if you choose the tool which knows every pothole on the way.
->Gladwev<- brings you the right tool to get your job without a hitch. it rebuilds the damaged database and helps recovering all your mails.

You can rebuild your corrupt Outlook for Mac database file with the inbuilt utility, or you can use software like Stellar Phoenix OLM Repair.
