11 days ago I came across this site based on a recommendation. I usually order from major manufacturers like Dell, HP, Lenovo. I decided to give this place a shot since it was spoken so well about. I wanted a new gaming laptop to replace my Dell Inspiron 15 that came with a GTX 1050Ti. I wanted to dive into the RTX gaming (future-proofing just in case) and was shopping around. I've encountered so many different brands not just here and saw the different 2060's and 2070's. Some laptops came with a FULL 2070 and some with a Max-Q 2070. The saving grace is other websites will list what their laptop 2070 is between full or Max-Q. I couldn't tell here because it doesn't tell you anything. So I said "you know what? Let me just ask!"

I spoke with Steve and after checking with the R & D department he comes back and tells me its the FULL 2070. I'm like thats awesome! Especially for the price of the Tracer III 15R Slim VR 800 this is a good deal! He also tells me the display response rate is 1ms. I'm blown away because I couldn't find anything faster than 3ms, most of them being 7ms. So I put in my order. Flash forward to today and I receive my invoice since my order shipped last night. Guess what I see? The video card is a Max-Q!!!! Not just that but the memory I ordered which even STILL SHOWS on my original sales order of G.Skill Ripjaws V is now Kingston memory. WHAT THE HELL???? Ya I'll be returning this and getting my money back. I don't appreciate being mislead and getting the wrong order. I didn't pay for this.

It might be a longer wait with the other major brands because of the demand but at least I'll get what I ordered. I am very disappointed and angry.

Yes that sucks.

I can't blame you, if you have a specific build list, that is what you should get unless they contact asking you if they can change it. Another bad one form QC. Many times the complaints we see can be pointed back by the consumer not asking questions or making assumption. In you case that seems to not be the case.

Hopefully you have an E-mail confirming the full version not the Max-Q. Since you have documentation regarding the RAM that helps.

I would never suggest a CP laptop. They buy and re-brand them. Not an issue with a custom desktop build as long as you don't select CP branded components.

If they give you grief about a "full refund" drop CyberHD a PM. Not sure about Laptops but desktops if you have an issue they will fix it, but you won't get a refund without a restocking fee. Let us know what happens. This is one I would push for full refund or contact the State AG for fraud, but that will only be based on "documents" not phone calls.

If CP ever gets beyond bad CS & QC they will be a force to be reckoned with.

(03:34:49 PM) -redacted-: Just a few questions before placing an order. I'm looking at the Tracer III 15R SLIM VR 800. I see the display is 144Hz refresh rate but what is the response rate? Also is the RTX 2070 card in here the Max-Q version or the full 2070?

Spoke with Sales Support on the phone and I'm left even more confused. They've stated that they're unsure why the invoice would say Max-Q since they use the FULL 2070 but agreed the memory is incorrect. It's already in transit but they're going to try and halt it, check it, and possibly have to rebuild it if it doesn't have the right video card. Sigh. Really not happy with my first purchase here.

-edit- Also even more confusing when looking at the laptops there is no option between a FULL 2070 or a 2070 Max-Q... Each laptop comes with a specific card, either RTX 2060 or RTX 2070. So who at CP doesn't know what they're talking about???

-2nd edit- My dudes this is one train wreck of an experience. I cannot recommend CyberPower to anyone I respect. I spoke with Adrian in Tech Support that told me the configuration is indeed correct. There is no full-powered version of the card only Max-Q. Very disappointing. So Sales has no idea whats in their laptops. At the very least they did upgrade the RAM on it and are sending it back to me overnight shipping, since the left and right have severe misunderstandings and recalled my laptop back from UPS without knowing everything. I'll deal with it. I'm not happy but I'll deal with it. Who knows, if I find any other problems with it when I open it I'm going to flip and send it back for the refund. For now the laptop has been enjoying a fantastic voyage going coast to coast.

Troubles is the understatement of the year lol. I'm making myself go crazy fanatic over the situation because I've decided to look up reviews of the company and the laptops and good lord it looks like an absolute dumpster fire. I'm seriously leaning towards just say cancel the whole thing. I never got to touch it and I'm really worried about how its just been sitting with UPS for the week and will continue to do so until pretty much the end of next week. Even if Cyberpower did a good job on the laptop, I feel UPS would have ruined it by now and I don't wanna deal with warranty repair. Plus I'm still sore over being misled into buying the wrong thing.

Someone, anyone, tell me it should be ok and I should give it another shot. I'm literally about to just get one on Amazon Prime. I can have it by tomorrow with that.

-edit 4/1/19- Quick update. The package arrived at CP today and they have turned around and immediately shipped it back to me next day airsaver. Only concerning thing this time (but could be nothing since I'm just a maniac) is this time the package is reported as 3 pounds lighter. It went from 15 lbs to 12 lbs. We shall see what becomes of this...

So an update. The laptop is running great, looks beautiful, all games are running flawlessly with very high FPS with everything maxed out. I can't get over how gorgeous my games look now.

The only thing I find weird is I have to really press on the power button to turn it on. It's not as sensitive as any other laptop I've ever owned.

Aside from that, no other issues.

I decided to write a resume, but after few tries understood that the process of rewriting the resume by a "standart" is not the best thing to do when you have free time. Looks like one place was clean (resume), and the cat remained the same. Now I think to order a resume from https://craftresumes.com/hire-resume-writer/ specialists, who will write it with quality?
