    Posted: 13 Feb 2009 at 11:03am
Hi

Microsoft has announced that it will be opening computer stores:

"The company hired David Porter, a 25-year veteran of Wal-Mart Stores  Inc., as its corporate vice president of retail stores. Porter was head of worldwide product distribution at DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. since 2007.

Porter, who is set to start work on Tuesday, is charged with improving the PC-buying experience. The company said his first task will be to set the timing, locations and design of Microsoft-branded retail stores, which will sell computers installed with Microsoft software as well as other company products. "

I wonder if they will be selling CP computers.

Alan

We will be implementing a topic for discussions of this nature in the very near future. We would like to get some feedback from the community to determine the name of this new sub-forum/topic.

Something along the lines of IT News or IT Talk.

Why not have a Topic name of Industry News, and then have subtopics.

It should be something that is descriptive so that newbees just checking in can realize what it is.  Something like: Industry Buzzline or Computer News.  I am sure that the other members will have better ideas for a name.

yeah, I heard about that. Sounds pretty cool.

It'd be nice if they could sell different varieties of CP computers. If they were good, they'd sell alot, considering how cheap they are compared to other brands like dell and HP
