All of a sudden my sound is gone and the control panel will not open.  I tried using the Windows 10 disk that came with pc to reset but it errors out every time.  I try to install Windows 10 from disk at boot and it errors out part way thru.  I am at a loss.  Where is the hard drive located in the case?  I want to remove it and erase.  So frustrated this is a brand new pc.  AngryAngry

Typical, buying an off the shelf system without asking questions. Hope you don't have the standard PSU, junk and has fried systems.

Post your full build specs.

Have you booted into safe mode and see what works?

Man you need to familiarize yourself with components if you can't just open your side cover and see the hard drive. You don't need to remove it to "reformat" it and install the OS. Do that as a last resort. >>>> http://https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000186.htm

Boot into safe mode and do a "selective start up". You can shut everything down except key MS components then see if it boots normally. If it does restart and one at a time restore each service until you find the one that is causing the problem.

Remember valor, honor, independence, family & clan; I do whenever I hear the ceol mor, the "great music" of the Highland bagpipe. I swear upon the holy iron of my dirk that I will not forget.
