League of Legends and DotA 2 are the ones dominating the MOBA scenes, but let me tell you that there are several MOBA games out there that are worth playing. <\/span>O<\/span>ne of them is the game I\u2019ll be featuring for today\u2019s article, the multiplayer online battle arena game known as Smite.<\/span><\/p>\n SMITE is an online battleground that features mythological gods and goddesses. Unlike other MOBA games that feature champions and heroes, Smite offers something unique to the players, and that\u2019s by providing a diverse cast of deities with unique powers to win over 5v5 matches. Currently, players can choose between 79 gods and goddesses from different pantheons all over the world. Like in DotA 2, two players from different teams can\u2019t pick the same god. The player takes control of the god or goddess in a third-person POV unlike from the usual top-down perspective. Each god features four different abilities aside from the basic attack and the passive. These skills possessed varying effects and must be used strategically to the player\u2019s advantage.<\/p>\n Though it has a similar gameplay like other MOBA games, Smite has added new elements you wouldn\u2019t find elsewhere. For example, each lane is defended by a creature known as the \u201cPhoenix,\u201d which is accompanied by a pair of extra defensive towers. Phoenixes deals a large amount of damage which makes it harder for players to push the opponent lane. <\/span>This game <\/span>also doesn\u2019t have a \u201cNexus\u201d to destroy to win, it but instead has a Titan, a giant warrior that your team must defeat to win the battle.<\/span><\/p>\n What makes Smite an exciting game is that you’ll encounter known mythological figures. You’ll be able to play Greek gods and goddesses like Apollo, Artemis, Athena, Aphrodite, Poseidon, Hades, and even Zeus. Then there are the Norse mythological figures such as Thor, Loki, Freya, Hel, and Odin.
