The internet is abuzz<\/a> today with news that Mine-O-Rama 2014 has been postponed. Outrage set across twitter and youtube as organizers of the event, which has sold over 3,000 tickets (some estimates report as much as 10,000<\/a> tickets were sold) to fans and content creators of Minecraft, announced that the event would be postponed at the last minute. Originally scheduled for this weekend July 12-13 at Piers 92\/94 in New York city, tickets for event went on sale in January at a price of $200 per head. <\/p>\n

Although the event organizers have promised that the event has indeed been postponed and not cancelled<\/a>, and that already-purchased tickets will still be valid for the to-be-announced rescheduled date, the short notice given to attendees that have already made travel and accommodation reservations has lead to many calling the whole thing a scam. As of this writing there does not appear to be a way for disgruntled ticket holders to request their money back.<\/p>\n

Several members of the Minecraft community have been vocal about the ordeal, including CYBERPOWERPC-sponsored streamer ZombiUnicorn<\/a>, who is currently attempting to organize a meetup for the Minecraft-faithful who make the trek to NYC despite the postponement. She joins a list of many<\/a> prominent<\/a> YouTubers<\/a> who will still be hosting fan meetups.<\/p>\n
