XDefiant is Ubisoft’s new free-to-play first person shooter. It blends elements from various games under Ubisoft’s umbrella and it’s obvious inspiration, Call of Duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Players choose from different factions, called “Defiants”. This factions are inspired by well known series such as Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, and the Division. Each faction has its own unique abilities and playstyles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

XDefiant features a variety of game modes, including the usual set of competitive multiplayer modes we’ve come to expect from FPS games like Call of Duty. Domination, escort, team death and the other usual suspects are all here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game feels great to play. The gunplay is fluid and responsive, feeling very reminiscent to COD’s more arcade-y style. This smooth gunplay is given an added layer of depth with the Defiant’s distinct abilities. Ubisoft has taken a community driven approach to the game, which is to be commended. They actively sought player feedback throughout the development process, playtests, and betas.
