I try to keep up on any type of modern shooter games that look promising. But often, even though a few good ones debut on Steam or the Epic Store from time to time, they go unheralded because of low marketing budgets. Luckily, one of these types of games, Superbosses\u2019 Intruder, didn\u2019t slip through the cracks and into obscurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intruder\u2019s Steam page gives a pretty good indication as to what to expect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIntruder is the stealth multiplayer experience. We were inspired by the great single-player campaigns of Metal Gear Solid, SWAT 3, Deus Ex, and Splinter Cell, and aim to bring that gameplay into a team-based multiplayer shooter. Intruder allows for stealth, teamwork, tactics and environmental interactions never before seen in a multiplayer game. Lure enemies into motion-detectors near explosive traps. Watch enemy movement through live security cameras and alert your teammates using the hand radio. Use real SWAT hand signals to communicate silently when enemies are nearby. In Intruder, amazing stories and emergent gameplay come from the players\u2019 actions to provide an experience you will never forget.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, since it\u2019s a spy vs. guards experience, I think it most reminds me of the excellent Tom Clancy\u2019s Splinter Cell Blacklist with a smattering of SWAT 3. It combines the careful planning, gadgets, and tense tactical gameplay of those titles, with gameplay that is built on multiplayer and proximity voice chat, becoming something truly special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as with Blacklist\u2019s short-lived multiplayer hijinks, you can crawl through vents, enter in secret codes, and use all sorts of gadgets like cameras to peek around corners, motion sensors, and remote charges. The game\u2019s physics system is a huge part of the gameplay and highly advanced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voice chat is a huge part of any tactical game worth is bullet casings and Intruder\u2019s voice chat typically ends up being both immersive and hilarious: you\u2019ll be standing guard in a hallway and hear a group of thieves outside discussing how to break in. Or on the flip side, you\u2019ll be about to sneak through a lock-picked door but be saved by hearing the guards inside radioing to their allies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stealth is the name of the game if you\u2019re one of the spies and nothing feels better than stealing a briefcase, running into an office, shutting the door, then throwing yourself out a window as guards shout to their friends as they open the door and start blasting away. Just as you hit the water and make a cinematic escape, of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intruder is simply a brilliant stealth-based game with so much emergent chaos and so many ways to play. And now that it\u2019s steadily building up a decently robust player-base, the game is getting more and more popular. Try it out for yourself!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intruder has some great graphics so you’ll need a pretty beefy gaming PC or gaming laptop in order to play it at a decent framerate. Therefore, you may just want to invest in a superior gaming rig:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
