Ubisoft announces that the Far Cry 6 release date for gaming PC<\/a> and console has been pushed back into the next fiscal year. The announcement came during the company’s latest financial earnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During its quarterly earnings report, Ubisoft explained the impact of COVID-19 on the company and the development of new games. This is why they decided to move Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine to the Fiscal Year 2021-2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ubisoft begins its Fiscal Year after March, which puts Far Cry 6’s new release date sometime between April 2021 and March 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ubisoft Yves Guillemot further explained that Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine could have been released on time if the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t happen. Guillemot said that the developers are still optimizing its work to better suit the current work-from-home conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Far Cry 6 has an original release date of February 18, 2021. It is still unclear when the new release date is other than it is set after Ubisoft’s next fiscal year, along with the Rainbow Six spinoff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Far Cry 6 is the next game in the Far Cry series. It takes place on an island called Yara, which is ruled by a dictator named El Presidente. He is training his son, Diego, to follow in his footsteps. However, there is a revolution brewing in Yara. And the player takes the role of one of its guerilla fighters named Dani Rojas, who strives to free the nation from El Presidente’s dictatorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Far Cry 6 will be released for Microsoft Windows, Amazon Luna, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X\/S. Ubisoft confirmed in a statement before that the game will feature a free upgrade to next-gen consoles for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
