Steel Division 2 – Tribute to D-Day Pack

Steel Division 2<\/em> has been one of the best World War 2 real-time strategy games I\u2019ve ever played. Whereas games like Hearts of Iron 4<\/em> cover the much more macro-scale of the \u201cgreatest conflict in human history,\u201d Steel Division 2<\/em> boils things down to a much more intimate level. Instead of abstract warfare, it allows you to focus more on specific battlefields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game\u2019s newest expansion, Steel Division 2 – Tribute to D-Day Pack<\/em>, is quite a whopper. It celebrates the 76th<\/sup> anniversary of D-Day and the Allied invasion of occupied France. It comes with six original Steel Division: Normandy 44 <\/em>divisions, a couple of new Aces, and tons of new units that have been brought over to the Eastern Front, which is the focus of Steel Division 2.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\u062f\u0627\u0646\u0644\u0648\u062f<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

First off, the highly strategic Army General gets a shot in the arm with is new Versus mode. Now you can engage in 1v1 online battles. Hopefully, this first entre into PvP within its turn-based strategic campaign mode means that we\u2019ll see even larger engagements, such as 2v2, 3v3, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As mentioned, the Steel Division 2 – Tribute to D-Day Pack<\/em> will give you access to six new divisions, three for the Allies, and three for the Axis powers. Here\u2019s a brief rundown of the divisions, starting with the Allies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mighty 2nd<\/sup> Infantry \u201cIndianhead\u201d Division, which has the early iteration of the U.S. Rangers, the ever-popular M18 Hellcat tank destroyer, and the Xylophone, which fires rockets out of the bed of its truck chassis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Steel<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The intrepid 6th<\/sup> British Airborne \u201cRed Devils\u201d Division, which includes the brand-new Belgian Brigade Piron, along with the Grenadiers-Volt rifle squads, Glider Crews as combat-deployable troops and Tetrarch light tank units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Free Poles of the 1 Dywizja Pancerna (1st Polish Armored Division), which is seeking revenge for what Germany did to their country during the early stages of World War 2. This Allied formation brings many new units, including a variety of Cromwell tanks, the Crusader Mk.2B, and Firefly Ic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And on the Axis side, we have\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highly experienced 3.Fallschirmj\u00e4ger \u201cGreen Devils\u201d Division finally arrives. These veterans are very versatile and field units such as the Fs-Sturmj\u00e4ger, LG 42 recoilless 105mm gun, Puppchen light AT rocket-launcher, and the AB41 armored car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You also can\u2019t sleep on the 17. SS-Panzergrenadier \u201cG\u00f6tz von Berlichingen\u201d Division. These hard-hitters bring a wide array of units, including the badass Italian SS-Legionari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then there\u2019s the do-or-die 12. SS-Panzerdivision \u201cHitlerjugend,\u201d who are composed of the Hitler Youth. One of the more powerful divisions in the game, they can field hard-hitting units such as the Panther G, Tiger E, the Mobelwagen, Wurfrahmen rocket artillery, \u201cBeute\u201d Firefly tanks and even captured Dingo armored cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also some other new units and mechanics that come along with the Tribute to D-Day<\/em> divisions. These include vehicles such as the Cromwell cruiser tank, Tetrarch light tank, T30 HMC, M4A1 Rhino, Crusader AA Mk, Centaur IV, Panzer L6(i), and BEF.SPW 202(e). New Infantry units include the aforementioned Fallschirmj\u00e4gers, U.S. Rangers, British Airborne, and SS-Legionari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new unit trait also debuts. It\u2019s called the \u201cFanatical\u201d trait and it means that these units will never surrender and will always fight to the death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In all, the Steel Division 2 – Tribute to D-Day Pack<\/em> is a pretty content-heavy expansion that both veterans of the series, along with newcomers, will surely love. Try it out for yourself!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Steel Division 2 – Tribute to D-Day Pack <\/em>has some pretty good looking graphics that make its strategy gameplay truly shine. However, you want to have a pretty beefy gaming PC or gaming laptop in order to play it at a decent framerate. So, you may just want to invest in a decent gaming rig:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
