Game Developer Red Hook Studios has announced that a sequel to their role-playing game Darkest Dungeon is currently on development.<\/span><\/p>\n

The announcement came via a Twitter post with the first details being covered by PC Gamer. Alongside the announcement came a brief teaser video titled “The Howling End.” The trailer video showed six of the returning classes from the first game including the Grave Robber, Highwayman, Hellion, Leper, Man-at-Arms, and Plague Doctor.<\/span><\/p>\n

During an interview with PC Gamer, Tyler Sigman and Chris Bourassa of Red Hook further discussed details about the sequel. According to them, the sequel will feature the same combat system as the first game but comes in a more “tuned up” form that players must look out for. They also said that the developers applied a very different metagame structure to the new game, but did not further explained what it’s all about. <\/span><\/p>\n

Another detail that Red Hook Studio confirmed is that Darkest Dungeon 2 will be released first on Early Access. Although no platforms were announced, we’re sure that it’s going to be released for <\/span>gaming computers<\/span><\/a> via Steam, as with the first game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sigman and Bourassa also further explained the development of the sequel, as well as the 14-people team working on it. The two mentioned the love their team has for the characters of the game, saying that they adore the dysfunctional cast of characters that they have built along with the game’s atmosphere and its world. They also said that they are committed to making Darkest Dungeon 2 to be its own experience, having its own creative and thematic identity, making it different from the first game.<\/span><\/p>\n
