Sad news to Heroes of the Storm fans, Blizzard decided to scale down further development of the free-to-play multiplayer game.<\/span><\/p>\n

The announcement came via an official blog post published by Blizzard, where Blizzard\u2019s President J. Allen Brack and Chief Development Officer Ray Gresko talked about the new projects they have on hand, which caused these sudden changes.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the two, they needed to take some of their talented developers from HoS and bring their skills to other projects. This doesn\u2019t mean though that Heroes of the Storm will fall back on updates. Blizzard confirmed and made sure that they will continue to support the game. New heroes, themed events, and new content will still be released, but most of these updates will be designed to stay in the game for a long time. <\/span><\/p>\n

The news was rather a shock to some of the players, especially since Blizzard had just released Orphea, HoS latest hero, last month during the BlizzCon 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not only that, to further rub salt into the wound, Blizzard also confirmed to cancel Heroes of the Storm esports tournaments for 2019 including Heroes Global Championship and Heroes of the Dorm.<\/span><\/p>\n

While these all seem to be bad news for HoS fans, it\u2019s the other way around for Diablo players. There have been rumors circulating in the web that the project Blizzard has been focusing on is the new Diablo game. Although there were little details about the development of Diablo 4 at BlizzCon 2018, Blizzard, later on, announced that it is currently in the works under the codename Fenris.<\/span><\/p>\n

So whether you\u2019re a fan of Diablo or Heroes of the Storm, one thing\u2019s for sure — Blizzard will continue to deliver exciting new games and updates for us to enjoy.<\/span><\/p>\n
