If you think that the popularity of battle-royale genre is slowing dying then better think again. Epic Games, the studio behind the worldwide popular battle-royale video game, Fortnite, just posted the news on their blog. The post stated that Fortnite Battle-Royale had reached an overwhelming statistics of monthly players with an estimated number of 78.3 million users.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the blog post, the sudden increase of players came after the developers added some of the Fall Skirmish details on the game. With over 78.3 million players showing up last August, Epic admitted that it exposed some weak points on the game, causing them to look over Fornite’s system and infrastructure so that it can accommodate the rising numbers of players.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Epic’s words, the situation has allowed them to point out the problems and work on improvements to Fortnite\u2019s stats and servers. Aside from this, the Summer Skirmish update also highlighted existing issues with the performance and spectating feature in the game. Since they have been working on them to ensure that the new competition system will not encounter the same problems.<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s also possible that the problems are also caused by Fortnite\u2019s release on mobile devices both in iOS and Android, which added to the number of players in the game. Moreover, it was also released for Nintendo Switch last June 12. And just last month, Nintendo also announced that they will release Fortnite Switch bundle which will be hitting the stores in October. The package will feature several unique weapons and outfits which includes a glider, a pickaxe, and back bling. Buyers of the bundle will also receive 1,000 V-Bucks which they can use to buy premium items or Battle Pass in the game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fortnite has been widely successful and has brought Epic Games to the limelight, increasing the company\u2019s value to $8 billion from $825 million in 2012.
