Ubisoft just announced that Far Cry 5, the latest installment in the series, has become the franchise\u2019s fastest-selling game. The company claimed that after one week of its release, the game has amassed over USD 310 million. That is two times the opening sales of the previous franchise. The statistics officially made Far Cry 5 the second biggest launch for a Ubisoft title, next to Tom Clancy’s The Division which had a sale of \u00a0$330 million within the first five days of its release.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I’m proud that years of passionate work from the team is paying off,” <\/span><\/i>Game Director Dan Hay said in their <\/span>official post<\/span><\/a>. <\/span>“And that Far Cry 5’s experience resonates with so many people. We are humbled by players’ reception of Far Cry 5 and fired up to keep growing and supporting the Far Cry community in the months and years to come.”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

In addition to the first week of sales, the announcement also mentioned some of the other achievements of the game\u2019s release. Using an infographic, they showed some of the impressive statistics in the game. These included the fact that it was streamed for more than 55,000 hours on Twitch, and Youtubers’ videos had more than 117 million views. Both records just prove the impact of Far Cry 5 to gamers. By the end of the post, US Ubisoft President Laurent Detoc thanked all the fans and newcomers who have supported the title, and have collectively grown the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Far Cry 5 is the first title in the series to take place in America. Players can explore the serene-looking open world of the fictional Hope County, Montana as a new junior deputy. The vast place is gorgeous but filled with dark and colorful stories about a years-long silent coup by a doomsday cult known as Eden\u2019s Gate. <\/span><\/p>\n

The game introduces players to new characters and a whole new world, where you must fight against a deadly cult in solo or two-player co-op. It lets you build your own character and choose your own path as it is the largest customizable Far Cry game ever. It also features re-defined stealth mechanics that can enhance the player\u2019s gameplay.<\/span><\/p>\n

Far Cry 5 is now available on Microsoft Windows <\/span>gaming PCs<\/span><\/a>, PS4, and Xbox One.<\/span><\/p>\n
