Subject: Windows 10 on NEW PC will not activate

So I just received my brand new Cybepowerpc, and it is awesome.  The only problem I have encountered so far is that my copy of windows 10 will not activate.  Under the activation page it says...

Error code: 0xC004C003

Error Description:  The activation server determined the specified product key has been blocked.

I called technical support the other day (but unfortunately could not stay on the line after they transferred me) and the person I spoke with tried to have me reinstall windows, but this did not work.  He then said I was going to have to send the PC back so they could take my motherboard out and install a key on it.

I'm just curious as to why they would have to take my motherboard completely out to put a windows key in it.  Obviously, I don't want to ship the computer back (risking damages) then wait for repairs and the return ship (more opportunity for something to get broken).  It also took me five days once the computer shipped in order to receive it, which means that I am looking at probably at least three weeks once I send it off.

Also, after talking with my brother about it (who works with computers, so he knows a lot more than I do) I'm concerned about if they will have to replace my motherboard.  He seemed to think that because the windows is attached to it that they will swap it out, which I don't want because I know Cyberpower can use referb parts for repairs.

I'm happy with the PC, but it seems like there are TONS of reviews where people have an issue that only gets worse and worse.  Any thoughts?

Hey! I'm having the same issue myself, I got my PC on sept. 30th and I'm still trying to fix it. Someone in the Tech team is working on it for me. Have you had any updates so far?

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear this happened to you as well. Cyber_tech2 sent me a message with some trouble shooting steps, but since they didn't work, I did have to send it back to have the activation key put into the motherboard. If you have also been talking with tech support, I am sure you will have tried the same steps.

I'm a little frustrated, but I can honestly say that everyone I have spoken with has been very nice, and they did pay for the shipping back.

I will make an update later once I get the computer back, but I'm thinking it should be fine as long as UPS doesn't throw it around too much.

I don't think there is anything else you can really do if the trouble shooting doesn't work, unless you feel like paying for a pin from Microsoft (but then what do you do if it still doesn't activate).

I had the same problem all u have t do is type SLUI 4 on cmd and I'll get a blue screen and a Microsoft number, so all u have to do is call in and they activate windows for you. If u have any questions i advise you to contact cyber_tech2 he's an amazing mod on here that helped me,

May be a waiting game, there is a claim that it will activate if you wait a few days. Here are a couple of links.

ANother possible fix.
Step 1: Click on Start button, then go to Settings

Step 2: Click on Update and Security.

Step 3: Now on the left Pane you will goto Recovery.

Step 4: You will see Reset this PC Option so Click on Get Started.

Step 5: Sit Back and wait until everything is over and see if the Error 0xC004C003 is Fixed.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did already try the SULI 4 fix and unfortunately it did not work. I did not get a chance to try to reset the PC :/

I did read claims that you might just have to wait, but I think that may be if you upgraded to Windows 10.

Update:  So a little over two weeks after Cyberpower received my computer, it arrived back today with damages to the case, hard drive bay, and graphics card.  It looks to me like they jammed the foam insert in too hard and then tried to force the case door closed to fit it.  At this point, I'm extremely angry and dissatisfied with my service.  I've contacted Cyber_Tech2, since he/she had helped me earlier, to see what can be done.  I will keep update later with whatever happens next.  I do intend to leave a full review of my entire experience but will hold off until I either receive an undamaged computer in full working order, or until this one is returned.

Hopefully everyone else had better luck.

Having this issue right now, not very happy since I bought the OS so I should rightfully have the key.

I'm sorry to hear that you have this issue,. It was extremely frustrating for me, but I can tell you that after talking to Cyber_Tech2, all of my issues got resolved. I recommend sending him/her a message, since there are trouble shooting steps and things you can try before having to send your PC back. If those don't work then you will have to send it back for them to put the key in it. When I received mine back there was damage to some of the components, however, I was lucky and they were able to mail replacements instead of me having to send the computer back again. I know it is frustrating, but now that all my computer's issues are fixed it is an excellent gaming machine. If you give them a chance I am sure they will make it right.

anyone that's having trouble activating windows, look on the side of your tower (the one without the see through window) or the right side when you are facing the front of the tower.  the reason why it's saying blocked is because they key isn't on the installation disc.  it's using a generic stock key which microsoft doesn't want anymore so it's blocked.

Just received my new FANG 4 sx100 and tried to activate windows.  Received a error code 0xc004f014.  Gonna wait a couple 2 or 3 days to see if it will work then.  Or should I just call tech support now?  Any help would be greatly appreciated

I just received my fangbook4 and have the same issue- so apparently it isn't an isolated problem-why can't cyberpower get it right in the first place?

Ahhh, perfect. That did it for me.

I didn't even see that sticker, and this prevented me from calling all ragey about my OS not activating.

It might be helpful had that been in any sort of documentation.

I just got my cyberpowerpc delivered yesterday. I too am having issues getting windows 10 activated. I even tried putting in the code on the side of the tower. Comes up as an invalid code! I already called customer support. They told me to wait 48 hours. How will that even work if the product code is invalid?

Did waiting the 48 hrs work, or are you still having problems ?

Ok, so in order to activate we have to look at the side of the PC and input the code?

Dude you on an old thread.

If you ordered your OS, yes the key should be on the case, or bottom of a laptop.

Start a new thread if you have issues.

So, sad to say I just received my PC a few days ago and it looks like they have not bothered to fix this issue as I too have this problem.  I am fairly upset about this as they take two days to do supposed quality checks on the systems before they ship.  Obviously this is not happening.  I tried the SLUI and calling Microsoft, but surprise, without the activation key nothing can be done.  What I would like to know is why are they not emailing the customers the key?  We are registered with them when we purchase the system and they have our email addresses.  Really not happy with this as it is a basic thing that should never have continued from November of 2015 to Apr 2016.

A bunch of us have received a PC from CyberPower in that period and haven't had this problem. The key was on the CD Sleeve when you peel off the cover or on the case(mine was both). It worked right when I typed it in but it seems to be taking a couple days for some people.

From what I know, CyberPower can't really catch this problem considering they don't input the Win10 key. They download a copy of Windows 10 for you and probably just do it from the same USB drives over and over again. They don't need to use your Win10 key and from what I know, don't. So how exactly can this be catched?

Are you implying they didn't give you a key at all? Have you checked the two places it should be?

Hi there!  I literally bought a Cyberpowerpc yesterday and was very happy until I tried to customize my locksreen.  It said that windows was not activated, the same error code that you had.  I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this yet, but I went into Start and search "activate" and went into "see if Windows 10 is activated."  I went into there and pressed change product key.  On the side of my PC was a little sticker that had my product key on it.  I entered that and done!  It said that Windows 10 was successfully activated!

I hope this works if anyone is still having problems Smile

P.S. I didn't buy my PC straight from this website, I'm not sure if that makes a difference.  I bought mine at Best Buy

How much did you pay for it from Best Buy? You can get a much better deal if you custom build a system here. It's said 1000 times every year but off the shelf PC's will come with Standard Power supplies which really put your system at risk of serious damage.

I'd honestly recommend taking it back and custom building one here with the help of the senior members on this forum.

Did any ones activation problems miraculously disappear after a few days?

I've had my system for almost a month, entered the activation code without problems when it was delivered now all of a sudden I have this damn watermark in the lower right hand corner.

Just in case anyone else has the same problem as me. There is now a 'scratch card' style sticker with 15 of the 25 digits showing. You need to scratch off the gray bar covering the rest of the product key.

Haha must be real stupid cause there was no directions about scratching off the actual space before the numbers I only was entering 15 numbers not 25 numbers that it suppose to be so everyone on the side of the tower the product key is there u have to scratch off the Grey section on the sticker

People

When you post, please start your own thread. This thread is "several years old". trying to run back and forth to discern what is relative or not is a pain.................

I installed Windows since 4 days ago but last night I got message This copy of Windows is not genuine with background is black. When I started browsing to find the solution of this issue then I got https://appuals.com/removing-this-copy-of-windows-is-not-genuine/" rel="nofollow - https://appuals.com/removing-this-copy-of-windows-is-not-genuine/ which has proper solution. Dude you in a 3 year old thread.

In some instances it may not register first try. Give it a day or two to see if it connects with the servers. Then go from there.

You may just be able to contact Microsoft to activate the OS.
