Hi everybody,

I am buying a computer for my son and I am not really sure what to get. Could someone please be kind enough to recommend a gaming desktop that's between $600-$1000. The more sensible the price the better.

http://worldoftanks.com/en/content/guide/general/system-requirements/

This is the game he plays and I don't really understand all that specifications. He has an old dell that we upgraded but it's really dying now. I am going to buy a system by Friday cause it's his birthday on Nov. 16.

Thank you for your time and expertise,

CC

Any new pc with a discreet video card should have no issues with those system requirements. A sample build for your budget might be: 1HDFTQ.

This is without a monitor - you can use an existing monitor, but if it's an older model without digital inputs you may need a dvi-i to vga adapter. There's also enough left in the budget to get a decent low end monitor.

Pay attention to the promotions on the day you order - that will get you the best value.

With that low of a budget an AMD build would be a good place to start. Intel based builds will run a hundred or so more that the same build with an AMD cpu. Intel is the industry leader but not a thing wrong with a solid AMD build.

Here is a good start. The only thing he may need in the future is to upgrade the GPU. This is the most critical for good gaming and the most expensive component. To jump to the 970 will run about $100.00 now. But to do it in a year or so will be more expensive since you already have cash invested in the 960. Consider upgrading to the 970 now in a new build and he won't have any need in the foreseeable future to upgrade.

Configuration#: 1HDHMH(http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saved/1HDHMH)

On another note, for other members.
I usually copy and paste the full build in these responses, since the site went down the other day, when I try to copy the build, paste it then post, I get an error. Anyone else having this issue?

If you buy it come back and we can go over things to do even before you open the box.
